Voting in California
To vote in person, Californians can vote during early voting or on Election Day:
Early Voting: Dates and hours vary by county. Many counties offer voting beginning several days before Election Day at vote centers and polling locations.
Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Polls are generally open from 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM.
Vote By Mail
All registered California voters receive a vote-by-mail ballot.
Key Deadlines:
- Register to vote: October 19, 2026
- Request a replacement mail ballot: Up to 7 days before Election Day
- Return by mail: Must be postmarked by Election Day and received within 7 days
- Return in person: By 8:00 PM on Election Day
Ballots can be returned by mail, official drop box, vote center, or polling place.
